The Fountain Past & Present

The Fountain Barrowford Past & Present

The Fountain

This fountain replaced the old Gaumless Trough, and was erected as a Royal memorial in 1913.

There was a chained drinking cup, a long trough for horses, and a small lower trough for dogs.

When the original Fountain Square was demolished the fountain was moved to the cemetery overlooking the park.

The fountain now stands in the grounds of the Fountain Square flats.
